- Information for Students
All students enrolling in a TAFE NSW course will be given a TAFEcard – your student identification and stored value card. It contains your name, learner number, a photograph and is used for various applications including library and other memberships, security access, and discounts at some business and entertainment venues.
As a stored value smart card, the TAFE card also contains a reloadable “purse”, which you may be able to use for a variety of services within the college such as photocopying and parking. When you enrol, you need to have your photograph taken and in most cases, a TAFEcard will be issued to you straight away.
You must carry your TAFEcard at all times when on college premises and you will need to show it as identification to access some college facilities and to sit final exams. If your TAFEcard is lost or stolen you need to report it immediately to the Customer Service Centre at your college.
Your TAFEcard is valid as long as you are enrolled with TAFE NSW - you do not need a new one each year. It costs $20 to replace – so please treat it with care. A user guide with full details is available from Customer Service.
