Disabilities Support Services

Our Disability Consultants for students with hearing, neurological/learning, physical/medical, mental health and vision disabilities provide a range of services to students in all Colleges, including:

  • Pre-entry Counselling
  • Tutorial support
  • Notetakers
  • Interpreting assistance
  • Modified assessment/exam conditions
  • Special equipment/aids
  • Assistive technology
  • Access and mobility support
  • Special programs and courses

To ensure all students have an equal opportunity to participate in a TAFE NSW course, the Disabilities Support Service promotes access to courses and reasonable adjustment to reduce barriers that may disadvantage students in achieving their educational and career goals.

If you have a disability and feel you might benefit from these services, it is important that you make contact with the Disabilities Service as soon as possible, preferably in the semester or weeks prior to enrolment.

To help ensure you receive the most appropriate support and adjustments, the staff of the Disabilities Service may require you to provide some documentation about your disability. The more recent and detailed this information is, the more useful it will be for the Disability Consultants and your class teachers.

Contact (02) 9208 9318 for the name and contact numbers of the Disability Consultants for students with disabilities servicing your local College. Or, you might like to use the Contact us section of our website to submit an enquiry via email or SMS.
