Peter Contini (aka The Count)

BA(Dist), Grad Dip VET

Teaches Studio Recording and Mixing including Protools, and Filmsound

Peter has over 40 years experience in the Australian Music Industry. He designed, built and operated the legendary Sun Studios in Sydney’s Surry Hills for 20 years, recording thousands of albums, films, and commercial soundtracks.

He has worked with many great Australian artists from all genres and styles of music, including: Marcia Hines, Tim Finn, Dein Perry, The Rockmelons, CDB, Leonardo's Bride, Girlfriend, Sean Kelly, Jenny Morris, Tom Burlinson, Doug Parkinson, John Waters and Stewart D'arrietta, Tommy Emmanuel, Chrissie Amphlett, Billy Thorpe, Richard Gill and The Sydney Philharmonia, The Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Tina Turner, Jackie Orzasky, Rick Price, Gary Beers (Inxs), Mark Williams, Vanetta Fields, Kerrie Biddell, Julian Lee, Ricky May, Graham Jesse, Jim Conway, Idris Jones (The Mixtures), Glen Shorrock (LRB), Max Merrit, Air Supply, Mark Moffat, The Reels, The Angels, Tony Mitchell (Sherbet), Jeannie Lewis, Paul Terracini and heaps more!

He began teaching Sound Production at Nirimba TAFE and the University of Western Sydney in 2002 (now full-time at TAFE).
