Auditions and Interviews

Most courses require an audition (A) or attendance at an information and selection interview (I). You will be contacted by WSI Entertainment staff to notify you of an audition/interview time.

Here's what's required in auditions and interviews:

Course Requirements

Music Courses

  • Three songs of contrasting genres and styles: (jazz, pop, rock, country etc) (ballad, slow, medium, fast)
  • Demonstrate a Range of Techniques

Music Theatre

  • Apply through our course pages
  • Attend an audition. We will contact you to let you know the day and time

Requirements for auditions:

  • One song (any genre, preferably music theatre: accompanist provided)
  • One monologue (no longer than 2 minutes: preferably contemporary)
  • You will also be interviewed and asked to sing some scales
  • You will also need to attend a dance audition, no preparation needed, please wear clothing you can move in

Theatre and Screen

  • Apply through our course pages
  • Attend an audition. We will contact you to let you know the day and time

Requirements for auditions:

  • 1 monologue (no longer than 1 minute: prefer contemporary)
  • You will also be interviewed and be involved in a group acting audition
  • Please wear suitable clothing for movement work (eg. no skirts)

Music Business

(I) Apply through our course pages.

You may need to attend a selection pre-test. We will contact you to let you know the day and time. You will be required to answer questions whose aim is to investigate their background knowledge pertaining to the music industry, researched employment prospects and typical career paths. This assists us in placing applicants into the most appropriate course. Each applicant will have opportunity to ask questions about the program at this time. Applicants will be contacted regarding the outcome of the courses selection process.

Music Production and Recording

You may need to attend a selection interview. We will contact you via email to let you know the day and time. The selection test has questions which allow applicants to demonstrate their understanding of the course and the career path that it leads to. Each applicant will have opportunity to ask questions about the program at this time. Applicants will be contacted via email regarding the outcome of the course selection process.

Please note: Many of our courses are high demand and attract many more applicants than we can accommodate. Unsuccessful applicants are placed on a waiting list should vacancies arise. Submission of an Expression of Interest or attendance at a pre-selection test does not guarantee placement into a course.
