I have been a part of the Hair and Beauty Industry for 30 years, for 25 of those years I owned and operated my own Saloon.

Throughout my time in industry I have received awards for Hair design from:

  • Australian Bridal Industry
  • National award for sustainability

My salon was awarded multiple business awards, the most recent of which I was given a motor scooter and I am currently in the process of getting my motor cycle licence. I have a passion for Glamour and hair design.

Industry experience:

I've been Hairdressing for 11 years.  I began teaching with TAFE in June 2012, whilst also working in a hairdressing salon.  I am still employed with the same salon I completed my apprenticeship with. I am a senior stylist and have managed the salon in the past, as well as trained the apprentices and/or new staff.

I take particular interest in colouring, cutting and up styling. I like the change from start to finish when working on a client.  I find hairdressing a great tool to work as a team to create great concepts.

I am a part time teacher of hairdressing and have been hairdressing for 20 years. During this time I have enjoyed working in various types of jobs within the hairdressing industry. The highlight of my career was owning my own salon and teaching at TAFE which I have been doing since 2005. I love learning and continue to attend as many seminars and courses throughout each year to keep my skills current. My students inspire me to be the best teacher I can be. A career in hairdressing is like hanging out with your friends and getting paid to do it!

I am a part time teacher of hairdressing with over 28 years experience. I have owned my own business for 10 years.  My passion and love of hairdressing has now led me to TAFE teaching which I enjoy so much and find very rewarding. I still have the passion and love for the trade that I had when I started. I get great satisfaction from passing on my knowledge  to others.

I am a part time teacher of hairdressing with 13 years experience in hair and makeup. I owned my own salon. I was the TAFE Hair and Beauty student of the year in 2004 I have a strong editorial/photographic background and have competed at a national level in various hair competitions. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with the youth of our industry; encouraging them to reach for the stars and believe in their ability to explore their creativity and achieve their best.

Colin Wilson

I have been in the Beauty industry now as a Makeup Artist for over 12 years. During that time, my work had been showcased on television shows such as ‘Morning With Kerrie-Anne’ and ‘Channel Ten News’. My work was also published in ‘Makeup Artist Magazine’ and ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ along with other newspapers and magazines.

My other achievements include publishing a book: ‘Period Makeup: A beginners Guide’; establishing my own YouTube Makeup Tutorial channel called ‘The Creative Stroke’ and my presentation and demonstration at the International Makeup Artist Trade Show Darling Harbour (I.M.A.T.S).

I currently hold a Diploma of Makeup and a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. I have also taught makeup for two other private training organisations.

Samarah Galea

I have been a Beauty/Spa Therapist, Make-up Artist and Nail Technician for 12 years,
Over this time I have had the opportunity to work across a variety of specialist fields within the Beauty Industry. My passion for the Spa Industry led me to open an award winning Obsessions Day Spa. In 2003 I was nominated for Young Business Women.

I started working within TAFE in 2006 and have had the opportunity of teach mainstream, commercial and TVET courses, I have also delivered courses at correctional facilities and a hostel for young mums. Whilst I have thoroughly enjoyed and grown from the diversity these opportunities have offered my main driving force is sharing my knowledge with the new generation of Beauty Therapists.

Along with teaching at TAFE, I am currently working at a specialist skin and hair removal centre where I perform a multitude of treatments including, Micro-dermabrasion, IPL, chemical peels, fractional laser and laser hair removal, I believe that working in the field keeps me updated with the ever evolving industry and am excited by the closer bond that is forming with the medical industry.

She has a passion for education and enjoys sharing her knowledge that she has gained throughout her career as a Beauty Therapist.  Her goal as an educator is to support and encourage her students to strive and reach their full potential within this professional industry.

I have been in the Beauty Therapy Industry now for 11 Years.

During that time I have worked as a Therapist for Madame Korner, Ella Bache and Lilianfels. While working for Lilianfels I also became a senior therapist overseeing the training of other staff members. I am also a therapist from home.

I currently hold a Diploma of Beauty Therapy and Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training. I have taught within the TAFE System now for four years and during that time I have delivered at different colleges.

I have been hairdressing for 48 years and continue to work in the hair and beauty industry. I owned and operated my own saloon for 19 years during which time I provided opportunities for six apprentices and provided training to senior hairdressers

I own a successful Day Spa (Spa Sublime) which is a multi award-winning business located in Katoomba. I have been operating this Spa for eight years now and have been teaching at TAFE for a number of years.

My qualifications include: Diploma of Health Science, Diploma of Lymphatic Drainage, Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy and a Statement in Aroma Therapy. I also hold a TAE10 in Assessment and Workplace Training

Industry Experience:

Helen Messazos has over 15 years of industry experience and a passion for beauty therapy. She has worked in salons, spas and health retreats in the greater Sydney area and has owned her own salon. 

Her aim is to help students reach their full potential, find employment, spread their wings and become the future industry leaders that will be proud to say they graduated with a hairdressing or beauty qualification from WSI Academy Mount Druitt TAFE

I have been in the Beauty Therapy Industry now for around 21 years.

I currently hold a Certificate III in Beauty Services and a Certificate II in Nail Technology. During my career as a therapist I have worked at various salons and then established my own Beauty salon, ‘Silvia’s Nail Shop, performing treatments such as nail enhancement, manicures and pedicures, waxing, tinting, spray tanning and Makeup.

My salon also gained the ‘Small Business of the Year’ award two years in a row and ‘runner-up’ in the third year. I have also entered nail enhancement competitions at the Beauty Expo held in Sydney and Melbourne gaining first place each time. I have been teaching within the TAFE system now for over five years and I have taught for different institutes

Part time teacher of Make-up and a professional makeup artist with almost ten years’ experience, specialising in bridal and photographic makeup.  Tracy is the founder of Locks n Lashes (bridal hair and makeup designers) which boasts a team of experienced and creative industry professionals. Her career as a professional makeup artist has given her the opportunity to work with celebrities, politicians, fashion designers, magazines, television personalities, actors and models. Her passion is photographic work and this is the area she most enjoys sharing with her students.

Kate Bukovac

I have been in the beauty Industry now for 15 years qualifying in 1998 with an Advanced Diploma of Beauty Therapy and two international accreditations.

I am extremely passionate about the beauty industry which is how I have come into the education area, where I love to share my knowledge and experience of what a great industry this is to be a part of.

I have worked across a variety of roles including Salon\Spa Therapist, Salon Management, Brand Representative and now in education for approximately four years.

I have volunteered as an Australian Youth Ambassador for developing countries where I travelled to Fiji to upskill and work with the local therapists which was a very rewarding experience.

 I have experience in all areas of beauty from the most indulgent Spa treatments, aromatherapy and massage to waxing, facials, manicure\pedicure and more recent technologies of laser and IPL, cosmeceuticals and chemical peels.

I love the industry and love to encourage and guide budding therapists into a fabulous career path.
