An EcoSkills Centre has been built at Richmond College.
Business and individuals benefit through training in current and future sustainable practices e.g. renewable energy, sustainable food generation practices, energy efficient horticulture production, native vegetation and conservation, water conservation and re-use, carbon capture and livestock management.
These skills enhance employment opportunities and provide skill sets leading to qualifications in green skills. Community benefits include an improved environment for healthy living and well being through the application of sustainability practices and eco literacy.
The EcoSkills Centre is made up of a number of components including a green house, a wind turbine, solar panels and gates that also feature a vertical garden. The vertical garden concept seeks to take horticulture and agriculture into urban and other environments where space is constrained.
