Building Industry

The Building Industry Skills Centre (BISC) provides career information and training for the building and construction industry. A part of TAFE NSW – Western Sydney Institute, the BISC provides nationally recognised qualifications and licensing which targets the building and construction industry.

No matter what your stage of life or career, you can learn new skills now and obtain a new qualification.

The BISC has the capacity to provide training for school-based apprenticeships, TVET, Industry Curriculum Framework courses, apprenticeships and traineeships in carpentry, bricklaying, rooftiling, shopfitting, plumbing, electrical and other allied trades. The BISC also provides post trade and licensing qualifications and courses that articulate into university.

If you are mature aged and looking for a career change, the BISC has the flexibility to accommodate a range of learning styles and can tailor a learning plan to meet your needs, including recognition of your skills and experiences to gain credit towards your chosen qualification.

If you need assistance in choosing a course or developing a career path, the BISC can provide you with access to our Counselling and Career Development Unit.
