About BISC

The Building Industry Skills Centre or BISC, as it is more commonly referred to, is a specialist centre providing high quality training and assessment services to the building and construction industry locally, state-wide and nationally.

Originally the BISC was established to provide specialist assessment only services for building and construction related trades people and contractors to gain qualification needed for WorkCover and NSW Office of Fair Trading, Specialist & Contractor Trade Licences. But now it is much more than that!

Located on the grounds of Nirimba College, Quakers Hill in Sydney’s booming North West Region, The BISC is fully integrated with the operations of TAFE NSW - Western Sydney Institute. The BISC provides the full range of TAFE services alongside our original services of high quality “Fast Track” recognition and assessment services across all building and allied construction trades.

The BISC has purpose built facilities where we can assess your skills, provide gap training and tailor a training program to meet your needs.

The BISC can provide assessment and training services across a wide scope of construction related Trades including:

  • Shopfitting
  • Concreting
  • Paving

Our trainers and assessors are at the tops of their fields of expertise in their respective vocations.
They all have the necessary teaching and assessment qualifications and experience to provide a fair assessment of your skills and capabilities and to support you with all your training and assessment needs.
