Cath Barcan BA (Visual Arts), BFA (Hons first class), MFA (Research), Grad Dip VET

Cath is currently Head Teacher of Commercial Photoimaging and teaches photography and professional practice within the Fine Arts curriculum. Her exhibition practice is based around photography, with occasional forays into other media. She has been exhibiting artwork for over twenty years. She has recently been included in national prizes such as the Josephine Ulrick Photographic Award, and the National Photography Prize. Her images explore heightened or theatrical environments, and are frequently concerned with the fine line between beauty and kitsch. You can view her work at

Craig Daalmeijer-Power

Craig Daalmeijer-Power

Acting Head Teacher of Visual Arts, Design & Photography at NADC. Craig has an avid interest in photography since using a Kodak Box Brownie as a 5yr old and with later influences from Ansel Adams, David Hockney and M.C. Escher, it is evident that the beautiful and the experimental as well technique and style are important qualities in his work. Served in the Defence Force as an Imagery Specialist, pioneering new techniques and approaches using digital imagery, videography, 3D and publication. His interests are in typography, Digital Publishing, drawing, infra-red photography, handcolouring, Polaroid transfers, landscapes, and technical challenges.

Nicola Read

Nicola Read

Nicola Read has qualifications in both photography and business studies and has worked as a freelance commercial and wedding photographer since 1986. Nicola has commercial experience,  which includes advertising, corporate, public relations and industrial photography. She has taught many aspects of photography in various TAFE and community colleges.
