This qualification reflects the role of individuals employed as nail technicians to provide manicure and pedicare services, including the application of nail art and acrylic and gel nail enhancements.

These individuals possess a range of well-developed technical and customer service skills where discretion and judgement is required and are responsible for their own outputs. This includes client consultation on nail care products and services. Nail technicians may also be self-employed and responsible for managing their own nail station.

Work is typically conducted in nail and beauty salons.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Trainees: From 2016 if you are starting a traineeship that is on the NSW Skills List, your Smart and Skilled fee for the whole qualification will not be more than $1,000.

In addition to your course fees, you will be required to purchase a tool kit.

This will be discussed at the course orientation and enrolment session will be held on Wednesday 21 June 2017 from 6 - 7 pm in the Customer Service Foyer at TAFE NSW Blue Mountains, (Wentworth Falls Campus), Mitchell Street, Wentworth Falls. When enrolling under a Smart and Skilled entitlement and where you are eligible for 100% credit from previous studies, your student fee contribution will be zero. However, you will be required to pay an administration fee for the production of your testamur.

Classes are held on Mondays and Tuesdays, (9 am to 4 pm). There will be Clinic block for you to attend this will be discussed on your first day of class.
