This qualification provides a trade outcome in roof tiling for residential and commercial construction work.

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.

This course offering is for students seeking Recognition of Prior Learning and adult students working in the roof tiling industry. Student MUST be currently working in the roof tiling industry.

You are required to bring to class your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safety goggles, earplugs, gloves, steel capped boots, suitable work clothing and a laptop computer or PC (Windows 8) computer tablet 8 inch (min), paper and pens, calculator, compass, ruler, steel tape 5m or 8m and the textbook - Basic Building and Construction Skills 4th edition Revised - Pearson Publication.

We run regular Roof Tiling Information sessions during the term on Tuesday nights at 6 pm in Building T4 Room G.09 Nirimba College, Eastern Rd Quakers Hill.

You are encouraged to attend the information session to discuss your study requirements.

Smart and Skilled Student Fees

The cost of this course will vary based on your eligibility for a Smart and Skilled Student Fee. Eligibility criteria can be found on the Smart and Skilled website or you can call us on 131 870 for further information and advice.

Apprenticeships: To be eligible for the Smart and Skilled Apprentice fee you must be a registered Apprentice.

Trainees: From 2016 if you are starting a traineeship that is on the NSW Skills List, your Smart and Skilled fee for the whole qualification will not be more than $1,000.

When enrolling under a Smart and Skilled entitlement and where you are eligible for 100% credit from previous studies, your student fee contribution will be zero. However, you will be required to pay an administration fee for the production of your testamur.
