This course has been designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to plastic welding procedures. You will learn how to identify various type of plastic compounds, repair techniques, methods and the use of plastic welding equipment.

***minimum 12 students needed to run course.*** for more information please call 9208 6345, 9208 6344, or 9208 6343. You will need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes safety boots, long drill trousers and a drill shirt.

If during or after your enrolment, the course in which you are enrolled is updated in line with national industry standards, the Institute reserves the right to transition you into an alternate course. If this becomes necessary, the Institute will advise you of the change and the arrangements which will be available for you to complete your alternate course.

Students must hold a current tradesperson’s qualification as a motor vehicle mechanic, automotive electrician, vehicle body repairer or similar.

Credit (or recognition) for modules/units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences. Please discuss this with the teaching section when you enrol.

Participants will need to wear steel capped boots, leeved shirt and long pants to meet OHS requirements of the workshop environment. Participants will also need to provide their own welding Personal Protective Equipment

AURASA002 Follow safe working practices in an automotive workplace
AURTTK002 Use and maintain tools and equipment in an automotive workplace
AURVTN017 Repair vehicle thermoplastic body panels and components

The above list includes units being offered at this campus and that are required to complete this qualification. Other colleges may offer different elective options.
