This course is designed to gain an understanding of the construction/building industry

You must have a White Card (General Induction for Construction Working in NSW). This course is aimed at students aged between 16 to 25 years old and looking to gain an apprenticeship in the construction field.

You will need to provide your own AS safety boots (steel cap boots).

If during or after your enrolment, the course in which you are enrolled is updated in line with national industry standards, the Institute reserves the right to transition you into an alternate course. If this becomes necessary, the Institute will advise you of the change and the arrangements which will be available for you to complete your alternate course.

Credit (or recognition) for modules/units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences. Please discuss this with the teaching section when you enrol.

Trainees: From 2016 if you are starting a traineeship that is on the NSW Skills List, your Smart and Skilled fee for the whole qualification will not be more than $1,000.

There is an equipment fee of $260 which covers all resources (textbooks) and PPE (Hi-viz shirt, safety glasses, etc) that you require for the course.

Days of attendance are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 am to 3.40 pm

To register in this course, please use the register option.

You must attend the Information Day on Wednesday 24 January 2018 at 9 am at Nirimba College in Block T8.

You will be contacted if you have been accepted into course after the Information/Interview Session, to organise payment and secure your position.

If you have previous studies in construction and are seeking Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) please provide relevant documents at time of enrolment. Additionally, provide your portfolio/resume including Year 10 school certificate, completion of Year 10 (ROSA) Record of Student Achievement or a letter of School Release.

A Unique Student Identifier is required prior to enrolment. To apply for your USI visit www.usi.gov.au .If you cannot remember your USI or if you have forgotten you have one, please visit the USI Website for assistance in retrieving your USI.
