This qualification reflects the role of cleaners responsible for undertaking a range of routine and non-routine tasks according to work schedules, liaising with clients and in some cases members of the public, and operating in a range of general residential and commercial settings as well as specialist cleaning environments. The cleaner may work alone, with or without supervision, and has responsibility for selecting, preparing and using appropriate cleaning methods for a range of cleaning situations while ensuring safe work practices.

No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of endorsement.

During this Information Session, we will provide you with the details of your first day of class and study requirements.

You are required to supply and bring to sessions your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safety goggles, earplugs, gloves, steel capped boots, suitable work clothing and a laptop computer (with the current Windows or Mac operating systems installed) or PC (Windows 8) computer tablet 8 inch (min), paper and pens, calculator, compass, ruler and steel tape 5m or 8m. Discuss this with your teacher in the first session.

If during or after your enrolment, the course in which you are enrolled is updated in line with national industry standards, the Institute reserves the right to transition you into an alternate course. If this becomes necessary, the Institute will advise you of the change and the arrangements which will be available for you to complete your alternate course.

Smart and Skilled Student Fees

The cost of this course will vary based on your eligibility for a Smart and Skilled Student Fee. Eligibility criteria can be found on the Smart and Skilled website or you can call us on 131 870 for further information and advice.

Trainees: From 2016 if you are starting a traineeship that is on the NSW Skills List, your Smart and Skilled fee for the whole qualification will not be more than $1,000.

When enrolling under a Smart and Skilled entitlement and where you are eligible for 100% credit from previous studies, your student fee contribution will be zero. However, you will be required to pay an administration fee for the production of your testamur.

Workplace: 4 hours per week x 1 Year

Course duration is maximum of 1 year. Flexible delivery is a combination of workplace sessions attendance, self-paced and online study.
