This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of servicing tasks in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.
This is a Pre-Apprenticeship course - a minimum 12 students are needed to run this course.
You will need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes safety boots, long drill trousers and a drill shirt, or your work uniform provided that uniform includes the above.

||Follow environmental and sustainability best practice in an automotive workplace
||Remove, inspect, repair and refit light vehicle tyres and tubes
||Inspect and service suspension systems
||Inspect and service final drive assemblies
||Test and repair basic electrical circuits
||Inspect and service cooling systems
||Balance wheels and tyres
||Inspect, test and service batteries
||Inspect and service steering systems
||Use and maintain tools and equipment in an automotive workplace
||Communicate effectively in an automotive workplace
||Remove, inspect and refit light vehicle wheel and tyre assemblies
||Inspect and service engines
||Inspect and service drive shafts

The above list includes units being offered at this campus and that are required to complete this qualification. Other colleges may offer different elective options. For some courses the electives will not be listed however they will be discussed during your first class. Smart and Skilled Student Fees
The cost of this course will vary based on your eligibility for a Smart and Skilled Student Fee. Eligibility criteria can be found on the Smart and Skilled website or you can call us on 131 870 for further information and advice.
|Non-government subsidised fee||$4,940|
Trainees: From 2016 if you are starting a traineeship that is on the NSW Skills List, your Smart and Skilled fee for the whole qualification will not be more than $1,000.
When enrolling under a Smart and Skilled entitlement and where you are eligible for 100% credit from previous studies, your student fee contribution will be zero. However, you will be required to pay an administration fee for the production of your testamur.
