If your course has been funded by Training Services NSW under Smart and Skilled, you may be contacted by a Training Services NSW representative to discuss your experience at Western Sydney Institute.

This skill set will allow to obtain an ARC license to allow automotive air conditioning service and repair work to be carried out on the basis you hold one of the nine current trade qualifications, as listed by ARC.

Apprentices and experience people employed in the trade wishing to upskill.

A minimum of 12 students is required to run this course.

You will need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes safety boots, long drill trousers and a drill shirt or your work uniform as long as that uniform includes the above.

Must have completed CERT III in Automotive or similar.

Are there any additional entry requirements?

A number of courses may require prospective students to provide additional information such as documentation, an expression of interest, evidence that you are already employed as an apprentice, or preferred prior study (or equivalent).

Apprentices and experience people employed in the trade wishing to upskill

Credit (or recognition) for modules/units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences. Please discuss this with the teaching section when you enrol.

AURETU003 Service air conditioning and HVAC systems
AURETU005 Retrofit and modify air conditioning and HVAC systems
AURETU007 Overhaul air conditioning and HVAC system compressors
AURETU001 Install air conditioning systems
AURETU004 Diagnose and repair air conditioning and HVAC systems

The above list includes units being offered at this campus and that are required to complete this qualification. Other colleges may offer different elective options. For some courses the electives will not be listed however they will be discussed during your first class. Students wishing to enrol into this course who are not current apprentices/trainees in an automotive qualification are required to hold an Automotive Trade Qualification and/or Licence.
Students not meeting this pre-requisite unfortunately cannot enrol in this course.
