Enrolling in a course at TAFE NSW - Western Sydney Institute
There are several different enrolment processes in TAFE NSW:
1. By General Enrolment
General enrolment has changed for 2009!
From 2009, general enrolment will take place at compulsory Enrolment Information Sessions. At these sessions, you will be able to receive friendly and helpful enrolment services from TAFE NSW.
You will be able to:
- talk to teachers about what you will learn in the course and what the vocational outcomes are
- ask for advice about entry skill levels needed to succeed
- find out about our support services
- discuss and apply for Recognition of your previous learning or experience
- ask any other questions you need to know
- fill in your enrolment form, ENROL and PAY.
Make sure you find out when the Enrolment Information Session for your course is to be held. The scheduled dates and times will be published on this website or you can contact the college. Bring along all the documents or evidence you have been asked for, as well as correct payment. Try not to miss the Enrolment Information Session, but if you do, contact the college as places may still be available.
Please check the Course Information Leaflet for your course or phone 131 870 for more information.
If you require assistance in choosing the course that meets your career and educational goals call 131 870, you can also talk to one of our Counsellors
2. By application
For some courses which are in high demand across the state, you need to fill in an Application form. These courses are clearly marked in the Course and Career Guide and on the Course Information Leaflet available from this website, from the college offering the course or by calling 131 870.
Applications for Semester 1 2009

Application forms are available on this website, or at any TAFE NSW college. You will receive a letter in early January 2009 notifying you of the outcome of your applicaion. If you miss the application closing date, contact the college as places may still be available.
Remember: Always check to see if your course requires you to attend an
information session prior to applying.
3. Online Some students may enrol online using
Student e-Services.
- Students offered a place in an application course can choose to accept their offer and make their payment online, or decline if they are not able to accept their place.
- Students re-enrolling for the following year in the same course number are able to accept their place and make payment.
Students enrolling in a TAFE PLUS course may also enrol online.
